**UPDATE 30th JUNE 2020**

 

 

We are pleased to advise we are now starting to slowly resume normal operations and our office will be open from Monday 6th July mornings only (0900 – 1230) for telephone enquiries.

The majority of our bus services should be operational again from Monday 6th July. There are a few minor alterations to some timetables so please see our website for details. We are hoping the 227 Edwinstowe Service will resume in a few weeks’ time. Telephone bookings for outlying villages will also re-commence from this date. Please ensure you ring our office by 12 noon the day before travel if you require the bus to pick you up.

Moving forward we are working on a new day excursion list, with a view to resuming these late August/early September. Social distancing will mean we can only operate on a limited seat capacity and we understand passengers will need to wear masks and use hand sanitizer when boarding the coach.

All holiday tours have now been cancelled until 22nd August but we are remaining optimistic they can resume again late August/early September. We are currently in the process of contacting hotels and visitor attractions to check they are open and able to accommodate our bookings. If you are due to travel on a holiday tour late August/early September, we will contact you in due course to confirm it is definitely operating and about paying the balance.

The lockdown has meant the majority of our vehicles have been off the road but we are now taking steps to slowly get them operational again with deep cleaning and servicing. If you have a private hire booking from July onwards we would be grateful if you could email us to confirm whether it is required so that we can ensure a suitable vehicle and driver are available.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding during these past few months – it is still a long road ahead but we are looking forward to taking you out on trips and holidays again. Your patronage keeps us all in a job and so we look forward to getting back to some sort of normality soon!

 

 

**UPDATE 16th JUNE 2020**

 

Bus service Caunton - Newark 332 is now operating along with a reduced 367 Collingham - Newark timetable.

We expect our other services and the full 367 Service to be re-instated in early July.

 

Whilst most staff are still furloughed and our office remains closed we are now compiling our 2021 tour brochure.

 

We are hoping to start operating holidays again later in the year but this is of course dependant on continually updated government advice and easing of the lockdown rules/social distancing.

 

With this in mind we are not taking any future holiday balance payments at the moment and ask that you please await notification from us. We will advise you to pay the balance once we know a tour is definitely going ahead.

** UPDATE 20th MAY 2020 **

 

All day excursions have now been cancelled up to the end of July 2020.

 

All holiday tours have now been cancelled up to the end of July 2020. We are in the process of contacting passengers by letter.

All customers who had paid their balance on a holiday tour will receive a refund of this in due course. Please bear with us - we are working in strictly date order and they are taking time to process due to limited staff availability. Any insurance premium paid will also be refunded.

 

Customers who have had their holiday cancelled will also receive a legally binding Refund Credit Note for the deposits paid which can be utilised for another holiday (either later this year or next year).

Again please be patient as these are taking some time to process and send out.

 

Your understanding and compliance with the above is much appreciated by us all.

**UPDATE 12th May 2020**

 

Regrettably we have made the decision to cancel our July holidays and have therefore begun contacting all passengers affected with the options available.

 

As a small family business, we are deeply concerned the impact this dreadful pandemic is having on the country: the leisure and hospitality industry in particular seeming to be the worst affected. We are of course equally aware that our customers and passengers are being affected financially and would like to re-assure everyone your holiday payments are safe and our aim is to offer a fair and empathetic approach to refunds where requested.

To all Customers, Passengers & Clients

Following Government advice, and in the interests of health and safety for our staff and customers, our office will be closed to visitors until further notice.

 

As already advised, regrettably all of our day excursions and holiday tours, have been cancelled until the end of June. All passengers should now have received a letter or a telephone call confirming this (letters for the June excursions will be in the post shortly).

 

Our telephones will continue to be manned on Tuesday’s and Thursday only from 0900 – 12 noon and our emails will also be monitored. Please note – we will be dealing with essential enquiries only on these days.

As we hope you will appreciate we are unable to assist with refund enquiries at the present time. Please be assure

d these will be dealt once it is deemed safe for all of our office staff to return to work. Your patience and understanding of this is very much appreciated.

 

Regrettably our services (367, 341, 335, 136 and 227) will all be suspended from the end of today (Tuesday 24th March) until further notice. We sincerely apologise to those who regularly utilise our buses but hope you understand we cannot safely continue to operate at the present time.

 

We will of course keep our website and facebook page updated with further developments. Hopefully if everyone adheres to the advice given this will mean we are back to normal sooner rather than later.

 

Finally we would like to take this opportunity to thank customers, clients and passengers alike for their support, we have had some lovely phone calls and messages, all of which are gratefully received.

The company was established as Wright & Sons on Lincoln Road in Newark. The original proprietor was Mr Charles Wright and he was soon assisted by his sons Frank and, a little time later, by his other son Leslie.

 

Our company employ approximately 50 people and operate from our purpose built site on Brunel Business Park. We undertake local service bus routes, school contracts, private hire, day excursions and holidays.

We offer a varied holiday tour programme to over 40 destinations throughout the year - principally in the U.K and a few selected Continental tours.

 

Modern executive air conditioned coaches with reclining seats, fitted seatbelts, w.c/washroom and hot drinks machine are guaranteed on all our tours.

 

Our local feeder/pick up service is very popular with passengers. This is free within a 10 mile radius of Newark and we can usually collect within walking distance of where you live.

 

Pick ups outside this area are available for a small additional charge:

 

10 - 20 miles        £21.00 per booking

20 - 30 miles        £27.00 per booking

 

We utilise a wide range of hotel accommodation ranging from family run seaside establishments to top quality executive standard. To assist passengers in their choice of holiday we utilise our own 'T' rating, ranging from one 'T' for an establishment offering basic facilities and good value for money through to five 'TTTTT' for superb hotels with leisure facilities. Where possible a representative of Travel Wright visits our U.K mainland hotels to ensure all meet certain minimum standards i.e quality of food and levels of cleanliness.

 

Deposits on all holidays are £60.00 per person plus any applicable insurance premium with the balance payable 8 weeks prior to departure. Any customers wishing to make interim payments towards their holiday may do so at any time after the deposit has been paid; there is no charge for this service.

 

We operate a Customer Loyalty Scheme on all holidays featured in our tour brochure. When the same passenger/s book more than one holiday at the same time, they receive a discount as follows:

 

2 Holidays booked = £10.00 per person off the second holiday balance

3 Holidays booked = £30.00 per person off the third holiday balance

4 Holidays booked = £40.00 per person off the fourth holiday balance

EXCURSIONS

 

We offer a wide variety of day excursions from our Newark base and produce four leaflets periodically through the year. Destinations include seaside resorts, scenic tours, theme parks and special events.

 

We pick up at several locations in Newark and Balderton on all of our excursions. In addition we occasionally collect in Southwell, Ollerton, Collingham, Sutton On Trent, Tuxford and Long Bennington dependant on where the tour is going to - please see our individual excursions for details.
